Hi, I’m Alicia.

It all started when I got the wild idea to make a basket for my mother-in-law, for her birthday. I scoured the internet and YouTube for a tutorial to match the vision I had in my head, only to come up empty handed.

The closest I got was a video on basket making with raffia. It did not go well for me, but it gave me some ideas. I headed back to the craft store and picked out different materials that I was more familiar with. And viola! I had something.

Everyone wanted to know how I made that basket and if I could make them a basket, or teach them. I kept working at it, looking for the best materials and techniques. And soon after, Valley Basket Co. was born.
